A vehicle rollover on Highway 401 Wednesday sent three people to hospital and closed the westbound collector lanes for nearly four hours.

The single-vehicle crash occurred west of Allen Road at about 2:10 p.m.

One victim was taken to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre with life-threatening injuries. The two others were taken to Humber River Regional Hospital’s Finch site with non-life-threatening injuries.

Traffic in the collector lanes was directed to the express lanes during the police investigation.

Earlier in the afternoon, the westbound collector lanes were closed for about an hour at Keele Street due to a car fire. No one was hurt. The fire erupted at 12:32 p.m.

Witnesses to the rollover are asked to call Ontario Provincial Police’s Toronto detachment at 416-235-4981.
