BLOOR WEST: 'Very sweet, very loving' teen still missing
There is still no sign of the 18-year-old, who is thought to have disappeared on his way home from a friend's house on Monday, June 16, in the College Street and Lansdowne Avenue area, not far from his school, West Toronto Collegiate. Police are still investigating, according to his mother, Scarborough resident Jennifer Plourde, who's desperate for any word about her son.
"He's a special needs child, very sweet, very loving, honest," she told the Villager Thursday. "I've got no answers to anything."
Plourde is begging her son, if he sees the 'missing' posters in the neighbourhood or happens across his name in the newspaper, to get in touch. She won't let herself think negative thoughts, she said.
"He was my little porcelain doll," Plourde said of what she used to call him as a baby. "He looks younger than 18. He's a sweet boy, who used to be in Scouts, Cubs and took swimming lessons. I'm hoping and praying we'll find him."
Regardless of what's going on, Plourde is pleading for someone to contact her. If someone's got him, she is begging him or her to release him.
She and her family haven't given up. Plourde said she would like to thank everyone who has helped in the search for Kyle. She also commended 14 Division police for their ongoing efforts.
"We're still looking for clues," said the Youth Bureau's Const. R. Moynagh.
His father, Emmanuel DaSilva, said their son, one of six children, has the mental capacity of an eight-year-old.
"We've all been looking for him, his friends have been looking and there's no sign of him," said DaSilva. "I need my son back. If anyone can help, I'll do anything."
He is described as white, 5-foot-8, with a slim build and short black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing black track pants, a black long-sleeved shirt and was carrying a red and black knapsack.
Anyone with information can call investigators at 14 Division at 416-808-1400.
