ETOBICOKE: ECI teacher faces new sex charges

An Etobicoke Collegiate Institute teacher was rearrested Monday and charged with sexually assaulting three male students between 1978 and 1984.

Robert Judge, 58, an ECI music teacher, was initially arrested on May 21 after a former male student reported Judge sexually assaulted him in 1982. The former student was 15 years old at the time of the alleged assault.

Since the arrest, three more former male students have come forward to report Judge sexually assaulted them as well. All the assaults are alleged to have occurred in Judge's home.

Judge appeared in court on the first charge on June 26, but the case was held over, police said.

Judge is not teaching for the duration of the court case, a Toronto District School Board spokesperson said in May after Judge was initially charged and released.

Judge is a teacher in good standing, according to the Ontario College of Teachers, and has been a member since 1974. He received a music and education degree from the University of Toronto, as well as a Masters degree in music from the same university in 1979.

Police believe there may be more victims. The investigation is ongoing.

Judge has been charged with three counts of indecent assault. He will appear in court on July 24.
